Welcome! Are you interested in becoming part of a dedicated public health and emergency response team? Whether you have a medical or non-medical background the McHenry County Medical Reserve Corps offers you that opportunity. The MRC trains and prepares volunteers so they are ready to respond and protect our community.The McHenry County Medical Reserve Corps is an important part of the Health Department’s Emergency Preparedness & Response strategy. We are dedicated to the pre-identification, advance training and credentialing of both medical and non-medical volunteers. The MRC has a flexible volunteer schedule that allows you to contribute the amount of time that is compatible with your life.
How Our Volunteers Help McHenry County
Volunteers help to fortify McHenry County’s ability to respond to terrorist activity, natural disasters, and public health emergencies. MRC volunteers also strengthen the overall health, well-being and emergency preparedness of the community by participating in McHenry County Department of Health activities throughout the year.
Volunteers also have the opportunity to participate in specialized teams such as Firefighter Rehabilitation, Heart Age Education and Animal Disaster Response. To volunteer for these teams specific training is provided. To view photos of the MRC in action click here!
