MCDH Emergency Preparedness strives to establish a resilient and prepared McHenry County through community collaboration, training, and education while building, sustaining, and enhancing our Department's capability of responding to public health emergencies.

Emergency preparedness means being ready for a disaster. It is important to know what we can expect and how we will respond to a disaster before it happens. McHenry County Department of Health is preparing for a prompt and effective response to a variety of public health emergencies.  By working with our community partners, we can respond to natural or man-made events.  We are committed to protecting our residents by:

  • Conducting training for our staff and volunteers

  • Collaborating with local, state, and federal partners

Within this site you will find information and resources to learn more about potential threats facing McHenry County and how you can prepare for these threats. Every citizen has a role in emergency preparedness and can do something to make their families safer, stronger and ready to face a disaster. Even a small amount of preparation can make a huge difference. Being prepared for an emergency saves lives. Make it a priority!
