The McHenry County Government has a long and proud history of strategic planning to achieve the objectives of its residents and create a better future. Beginning in December of 1999, the McHenry County Board approved its first Strategic Plan, which has started a tradition that has continued to this day. On October 19, 2021, the Board approved its fourth strategic plan, covering the years 2022 through 2025. The plan was updated on April 18, 2023 to include the input of McHenry County's new 18 member County Board.

Strategic Plan Logo Transparent - CroppedThe McHenry County 2022-2025 Strategic Plan is divided into six different key issue areas as depicted in this logo. Each overlaps and interconnects with one another to create the County Board's vision for the future.

Each key issue are in turn is divided into goals, each of which have their own actions for completion over the next three years. To review the updated plan, select 2022-2025 Strategic Plan.
