We strongly encourage reservations for Marriage licenses, given the time and complexity of completing them. Reservations in our office work much like reservations in a restaurant, it doesn't ensure that you will be cared for at exactly the time of the reservation, but rather that you will be served before others that didn't have a reservation at that time. We believe that this change will allow people to make more specific plans regarding their time, while at the same time, giving them the flexibility to show up at will if that suits them better. MISSION STATEMENT
It is the mission of the Clerk's office to provide prompt, courteous and knowledgeable service to all of our customers, whether at our counter, by mail, telephone or via our website.
As the chief election authority, the County Clerk provides a myriad of voter and candidate services and administers McHenry County elections in a fair, unbiased, accurate, efficient, and timely manner. The Clerk's office also maintains vital records (birth, marriage, and death), public filings, tax and real estate services as well as recording the McHenry County Board proceedings.
