Animal Control & Adoption Center

Functions include: animal adoptions, dog registrations, investigation of animal bites to humans, cruelty, neglect and nuisance complaints, and a temporary shelter for stray, abandoned and unwanted domestic animals.

Assessments

Maintains real estate property values, senior & owner occupied exemptions as well as mailing lists for tax bills.

Auditor

Maintains and reports all internal financial operations of the County.

Circuit Clerk

The McHenry County Circuit Clerk's Office maintains the court records of the 22nd Judicial Circuit Court as mandated by state statute. We strive to provide an independent office that provides accessible, responsive internal and external customer service. Our goals is to bring value, quality and satisfaction to the taxpayers of McHenry County.

Coroner

Provides the people of McHenry County with a thorough investigation in the event of a death.

County Administration

Provides administrative support and implement policies and directives as determined by the County Board.

County Board

The primary function is to establish the various budgets of the County funds and adopts Ordinances and rules pertaining to the management and business of the County Departments.

County Clerk

Office functions include: maintenance of county birth, death and marriage records, voter registration, election results as well as tax sale redemption and district rate maintenance.

County Recorder

The mission of this office is to record, maintain and to retrieve all real estate records, documents and plats of subdivision in McHenry County.
