The Workforce Board Executive Committee has approved the WorkForce Innovation and Opportunity Act Local Plan for LWA #2 including comments received and their responses.  The comments have been added to the end of the plan. 

Local Plan LWA #2

LWA #2 is part of the Northeast Economic Development Region (NEEDR) which includes 10 counties: Cook, Dekalb, DuPage, Will, McHenry, Lake, Grundy, Kane, Kankakee and Kendall.  The region has developed important points of coordination that provide ongoing opportunities to deploy integrated strategies in the region. Together they have produced the "Regional Plan" which aligns with the State Plan and each LWA's Local Plans.

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) requires all states to establish a procedure for Local WorkForce Innovation Boards to determine eligibility for training programs.  The Illinois WorkForce Innovation Board, with the assistance of Northern Illinois University, released a Statewide Demand Occupation Training List applying statewide job opening projections, median wage data and occupational training expectations for each Standard Occupation Code, or job, to determine those occupations that federal WIOA Programs may scholarship for training for Adult and Dislocated Worker Job-Seekers.
