Victim/Witness Coordinators

The Victim Witness Coordinators (VWCs) of the McHenry County State's Attorney's Office are staff trained and dedicated to meet the emotional and informational needs of victims and their families during the criminal justice process. They also work side by side with prosecutors in scheduling witnesses for trials or hearings.

They are eager to serve victims and witnesses and answer questions about the criminal justice process. They have a wealth of information about victim’s rights, case statuses, community resource referrals, crisis interventions, and special needs assessments. Whether it be helping victims shoulder the fear and anxiety that comes with testifying in court, literally holding a victim’s hand while waiting for a verdict, watching a witness’s children while he or she testifies or is interviewed, or providing transportation to witnesses, the VWCs are here to help. Spanish-speaking assistance available.
