The Civil Division is collectively the “lawyer” for the County. The Civil Division represents the County and County officials on all legal matters or proceedings they may face. These duties include preparing and reviewing ordinances and resolutions the County may enact, preparing and reviewing contracts and intergovernmental agreements, advising the County employees or elected officials as to their duties and responsibilities under the law, responding to Freedom of Information Act requests issued upon the County, and representing the County and County officials in litigation.
