Food Establishment Inspection Reports
MCDH's Food Protection Program allows Department staff to work closely with food operators through the construction plan review process, operational inspections and educational programming to ensure that safe and wholesome food products are provided to the public.
The Food Establishment Inspection Report includes inspections that have been conducted by MCDH staff since December 2016. The inspections are completed online in the food facilities by our inspectors and are updated once the inspection is complete.

Water Well and Private Sewage Disposal System Site Plans

Water Well and Private Sewage Disposal System site plans are searchable by permit number, address or parcel number.
Please remember that complete addresses and parcel numbers may not have been available at the time of the permit application. If you wish to use a wildcard in any of your searches, use an asterisk (*).

Scanning and indexing the water well and private sewage disposal system site plans is an ongoing process. Currently, approximately 75% of the site plans are available online. If you cannot locate records related to the property in question, please submit a request for records to the Division of Environmental Health and/or check for online historical permit records on the webpage for the Department of Planning & Development.

Water Well Construction Reports (Well Logs) are searchable by permit number, address, parcel number, Section, Township Number and Range.

Public Beaches
In McHenry County, there are currently 14 licensed general public beaches and 29 private beaches that are licensed by the Illinois Department of Public Health and inspected by McHenry County Department of Health for compliance with the Illinois Swimming Pool and Bathing Beach Code. MCDH staff collects and analyzes beach water samples for bacterial quality at least once every two weeks from May until September. Findings are reported and shared with IDPH. Elevated bacterial levels may result in closure of the beach until bacteria reach acceptable levels. The reports are publicly available.

West Nile Virus Data
(Mosquito and Bird Testing Results)
The Health Department collects mosquito batches from May until September and a limited number of birds annually to be tested for West Nile virus. All reportable surveillance activities are available for public inspection.
