You may find yourself in a situation where you need to get out quickly or take shelter. Disasters have the capabilities of causing widespread physical damage to a home, but they can also destroy vital family documents you may need. Having a binder or flash drive with important family documents and information saved on it would be helpful to ensure you have spare copies of important information. Copies of insurance policies, identification, bank information, medical, personnel, or anything that may be important in times of a disaster. In addition to that it never hurts to take photos of your exterior and interior of your home and expensive purchases along with writing down serial numbers.
