Completion of a permanent death certificate is made only after all aspects of the investigation are final. The more complicated a death investigation is, the longer this may take. In a "Coroner's Case", a temporary death certificate will be issued while final results of the Autopsy and Toxicology are pending. Family and the Funeral Home involved in disposition will be notified when a death certificate is permanent. Copies can be obtained from the Funeral Home or directly from the Registrar's Office.
