All Cremation Permits are issued through the Coroner's Office. No Cremation Permit will be issued less than 24 hours after the time of death, except in extraordinary circumstances. The Cremation Permit fee, as set by Illinois State Statute, is $100.00. The Coroner's Office does not perform or give specific referrals for private cremation or burials.
