McHenry County Department of Health to hold free tire recycling event on October 26 in Woodstock
MCHENRY COUNTY, IL – The McHenry County Department of Health (MCDH) is offering a free tire recycling event exclusively for McHenry County residents on Saturday, October 26th, from 9am to noon. The event will take place at the McHenry County Fairgrounds, located at 11900 Country Club Road, Woodstock, IL. Pre-registration is required to participate.
This event is an opportunity for residents to safely dispose of old or unused tires, helping to prevent mosquito breeding sites that can lead to disease transmission. Only tires from McHenry County residents will be accepted, and certain restrictions apply to ensure a smooth process.
Event Restrictions:
- Pre-registration is required. Sign-up can be completed here: Tire Recycling Event Registration
- Only residential tires will be accepted; no tires from businesses or commercial enterprises.
- Tires must be no larger than 4 feet in diameter.
- Tires must be removed from metal rims and be free of water, mud, and other debris.
- No other types of recyclable materials will be accepted at this event.
