Residential Tire Recycling Event
Free Residential Tire Recycling Event
McHenry County Department of Health is sponsoring a tire recycling event at no cost to McHenry County residents. Residents can drop off tires on Saturday, August 17, from 8am – 12pm, at the McHenry County Government Center (west parking lot), at Route 47 and Russell Court (2200 N. Seminary Avenue, Woodstock). This is an opportunity for residents to remove used tires from their property and help prevent potential mosquito breeding sites.
There is a limit of 10 tires per participant. Residents can bring tires from residential households that are free of water, mud or other debris. Acceptable tires are limited to passenger vehicle, light truck and motorcycle or smaller tires. All tires must be removed from the metal rim.
Tires that will not be accepted include large, industrial, heavy equipment, large tractor, or off-road tires. No tires will be accepted from commercial companies/businesses.
Grant funding for this recycling event is provided by Illinois Department of Public Health via the Used Tire Management Fund and the tires will be recycled by Treadstone Tire Recycling.
Please Note: if the maximum number of tires allowed by the grant funding is collected, the event will close earlier than 12pm.
